![]() Use the ramrod to insure that no charge is in the barrel by putting the ramrod all the way down the barrel, and then gauging the length against the muzzle-to-breech plug distance. The single set triggers are very nice.įirst, insure the rifle is unloaded. They are excellent rifles well made, and much closer to the original Hawken design than the T/C Hawkens. I can see rust inside the bbl but,since I cannot really look into the bbl,how can I know that it is in good enough condition to shoot? The bbl finish is "browned" (?) That's the info I got. It looks to have been shot little/neglected a LOT. It has a single set-trigger w/ REALLY light trigger pull after it is set.
